Becky Nester, BS, AAS, RVT, CTMT, ETMT, Certified Equi-Tape Practitioner
It makes my heart happy to be able to give back to the wonderful animals in our lives who provide us with so much unconditional love and laughter. Each animal that I have worked with has taught me something and provided inspiration about how I can provide the best experience possible. As you have seen from my page, I do not diagnose or treat medical conditions or provide medical instruction because I am not a veterinarian. I do, however, provide options to help maintain the wellness of your fuzzy family member.
Now, here’s a little professional background about me: I grew up in Omaha, Nebraska and then headed to Kansas State University where I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Life Sciences as well as minors in Biology, Animal Science, and an Equine Science Certificate in 2008. That same year, I began working in the veterinary industry as a veterinary assistant. Shortly after, I decided that I wanted to further my education in this field. I moved to Denver, Colorado and attended Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology. After graduating at the top of my class, completing an internship at Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo, and passing the Veterinary Technician National Exam, I became a Registered Veterinary Technician in 2011. Through my studies and in practice, I found that I have a passion for complimentary therapies and a soft spot for those senior fur babies.
This passion led me to pursue my certification in Therapeutic Canine Massage and Therapeutic Equine Massage, both from the Rocky Mountain School of Animal Acupressure and Massage. During my massage certifications, I was introduced to additional types of complimentary therapies. I knew that I wanted to add these tools to my business to be able to offer my clients multiple options for assisting in the wellness care of their animals. I traveled to Auburn University where I completed my certification as an Equi-Tape Practitioner for horses. Currently, I am working on my certification in PEMF (Pulsed Electro Magnetic Field) Therapy. Upon completion of my certifications, I will be able to provide PEMF therapy sessions to all small animals, large animals, and humans! I am so excited to provide all these services to help maintain the wellness of your animals!
On a personal level, I'm married to my wonderful husband, Jon, and together we have the sweetest Blue Heeler named Pepper. Not only do I enjoy working with animals, I also love teaching people how to reduce harmful chemicals in their homes as a Healthy Home Educator with Norwex. In my free time, you will find me camping, fishing, crafting, reading, traveling, and cheering on my Wildcats!
